UBI may be a necessity with advancement of A.I. How could people contribute to capitalism if there are no jobs to earn money and contribute to the market?

I know that there was an open letter signed by many tech leaders recently to pause with the development of A.I due to its risk towards society. I'd hope that there are discussions on intentionally choosing the path that A.I assists human development. There is an equal amount of good and bad that can come from it. I'm curious if a concept like the one you proposed arises from all of this.
