S.J, this is so well written!
I love this callout to consider our own bovine acceptance of our own definitions of wellness.
I especially appreciated the callout of the aim for much of mindfulness today. I sat in a group meditation recently where the one leading it answered the question of how often should one meditate in a day with, "How much peace do you want to feel?" His idea of meditation was to get to a space of peace so that you can be more productive with what life throws at you. Very in line with Poole's quote.
I also really appreciated the callout on angst and what the repression of it can lead to.
I love the AmaZen example. So many sectors focus on bandaid solutions as opposed to true healing.
Thank for submitting such a well crafted article. Tons of great insights are here, I will definitely be revisiting it over time.
