I hear you Jim that you don't believe that capitalism has a goal and is instead simply a tool for people with goals. That feels fair but the system is created to align with the interest of the participants within it (those who own and control property). The recurring motive found in those individuals is profit. I don't think that the intricacies of capitalism can be compared to a screw driver. I believe that there is an inherent goal of the system and it's to reward those who utilize exploitation the best (a fundamental quality of which the system is based on). Those who have the ability to, do. If you are inherently employing others to work for you and are retaining the majority of the profits, like a slave owner, that system is inherently flawed and needs a rethink.
